As
we know the Iberian Peninsula was invaded for several centuries by
the Arabic community, which taught us great part of his culture.
Part
of this culture is the musical one, which influenced to create three
styles of music that still live on at the present:
Arabian
music: it is play in the north of Africa
Andalusí
music: It is play in the north of Africa and south of Spain
Flamenco:
it is play in the south of Spain
One
historical character of the Arabic culture was Abul-Hasan Alí ibn
Nafí (789-857), or with his trade name Zyryab.
His nationality was bagdadi-cordobés.
This
man was one of the biggest prime mover of the different kinds of
music that have been named before.
People
attributes him the idea of putting the fifth bowstring to the lute
and the invention of the pick of the guitar.
Besides
some musicians are inspired by his music, like Paco de Lucía, which
has a recovery with his name, which was publish in 1990.
